God Cares About You   

Allow me to tell you about a young man who had a very bad day. He was a good kid, went to church, and was very involved in his youth group. He was well-liked at school, got good grades, and didn’t get into any trouble. He was always willing to share and help people. He even volunteered every summer at a camp for people with special needs and handicaps. This was a good kid.
He played baseball every year since he was 5 years old, and he played on his school team for 3 years. But then came the day when he didn’t get to play at all until he was finally brought in to pitch to the last batter to close the game. Afterwards his coach told him why he wasn’t getting to play much. This nice kid had missed a couple of games so he could go to a weekend youth rally with the rest of his church youth group. And he was also going to miss a game to go visit the college he was going to be attending later that fall. And because of that, his coach decided he must not be all that committed to playing baseball. So this nice but heartbroken kid found himself mostly sitting on the bench for the remainder of his games for his last year of school.
Oh, and one more unfortunate thing happened earlier that same day. He had gone to another school helping kids participate in Special Olympics, and while he was there, someone stole his wallet. It had $160 in it, which was just about all the money he had. It was indeed a pretty rough day for my son Tyler.
Maybe you have had days like that. Maybe like Tyler you’ve had your heart broken for one reason or another. When your heart is broken words cannot describe the pain and suffering. You may feel downcast and dejected. You may have sleeping or eating problems, or have feelings of loneliness and depression. Perhaps you’ve had feelings of helplessness and despair. You may think that no one cares.
I promise you that God has not forgotten about you, and He does indeed care. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” And 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your cares/anxieties/worries upon God because He cares about you.”
Not only does God care about you, He can and will help you get through whatever is troubling you. God is always on your side, and He can heal your broken heart.

A Great Book if Applied   While studying in the Holy Lands, a seminary professor heard about a man who claimed to have memorized the entire Old Testament , and in Hebrew!   Needless to say, the professor was astonished , and he asked to meet the man and see a demonstration.   A few days late r they sat together in the man ’ s home.  “ Where shall we begin? ” asked the man.  “How about Psalm 1 ?” replied the professor, who happened to be an avid student of the P salms.   Beginning with Psalm 1:1, the man began to recite from memory while the professor followed along in his Hebrew Bible.   For two hours the man continued word for word without a mistake as the professor sat in stunned silence.  Finally, w hen the demonstration was over, the professor discovered something even more astonishing about the man .  H e was an atheist!   Here was someone who knew the Scriptures better than most Christians ever will, and yet he didn ’ t even believe in God.  In one of my books by C

Room for More in the Family of God    In Luke 19:10 , Jesus said, “The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”   Similarly, Paul told Timothy, “ This is a faithful/trustworthy saying, and it deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).   It was 2000 years ago that our Lord came to give His life to save sinners, but there are still so many remaining who need salvation.   In Christ’s parable of the great supper, the servant went into the streets of the city and brought back many people.   But then he reported back to his master, “Lord, what y ou commanded has been done , and yet still there is room for more” (Luke 14:22).   God is still a God of abundant love and amazing grace , and t here is still room for more in the f amily of God!  And certainly we know there is still plenty of room in this our Pontotoc C hurch F amily for many more to come to Christ!
